I have sinned before thee, O Saviour, like the Prodigal Son; receive me, O Father, as one repentant, and have mercy on me, O God.
I cry unto thee, O Christ my Saviour, with the voice of the Publican: Be gracious unto me, as thou wast unto him, and have mercy on me, O God.
As I think of the grievous and unseemly deeds I have committed, I flee to thy compassion, imitating the Publican, and the weeping Harlot, and the Prodigal Son. Wherefore I fall down before thee, O Merciful One; before thou dost condemn me, spare me, O God, and have mercy on me.
O Lord, who wast born of the Virgin, turn away from my transgressions, and purify my heart, making it a temple of thy Holy Spirit, and cast me not away from thy countenance, O thou who hast great mercy without measure.
